John Travolta’s white suit from Bee Gees hit, More than a Woman will be auctioned on April 23-24

The generation that went to college in the seventies and grew up dancing along with John Travolta will never forget his iconic white suit that the 23-year-old star wore with a black shirt while jiving to the Bee Gees hit, More than a Woman.
The suit is expected to fetch $200,000 at an auction of the Hollywood: Classic & Contemporary sale that is being held by Julien’s Auctions and Turner Classic Movies. The starting bid for the suit was set at $25,000.

The listing for the suit at the auction site which is up on the Julien’s website describes the suit as “one of the most iconic costumes in the history of cinema”. It is listed as “one of only two known to exist used during production, including in the film's memorable dance sequences.”
The film and its dance sequences turned the 23-year-old John Travolta into an overnight sensation and also won him a nomination at the 1978 Academy Awards for Best Actor. However, the award finally went to Richard Dreyfuss.

Other items at the auction that will be held on April 23 and April 24 will include the helmet that Iron Man wore in Captain America: Civil War and the machete that Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones character used in the film, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
