Kate Beckinsale speaks out about on-set harassment following Blake Lively’s allegations

Kate Beckinsale has shared her own experiences of harassment on film sets following Blake Lively’s accusation of sexual misconduct against her It Ends With Us co-star and director, Justin Baldoni. Lively’s lawsuit, filed on December 31, 2024, ignited conversations in Hollywood, encouraging others to speak out about similar incidents.


According to Pinkvilla, Beckinsale opened up in a now-deleted Instagram video, claiming she had been “assaulted” and “felt up” while working on movie sets. She also recalled being called offensive names, including derogatory slurs, when she spoke out about the mistreatment. The Pearl Harbor actress admitted that although she had never met Lively or her husband, Ryan Reynolds, she was closely following the situation surrounding the lawsuit against Baldoni.

Beckinsale emphasized that the issue went beyond the entertainment industry, saying that whenever a woman speaks up about mistreatment, a system immediately works against her, undermining her claims. She revealed that she had numerous similar experiences throughout her career, recalling one particularly painful incident when she was 18 years old.

In that instance, she said she was “felt up” by a crew member whom she had trusted. When she sought help from the project’s lead actress, a well-known advocate for women, her concerns were dismissed. The Serendipity star shared that she had approached the actress in tears, only to be told, “No, you haven’t been.”

Additionally, Beckinsale recounted being placed in unsafe conditions during film shoots on two separate occasions. She also spoke about enduring the inappropriate behavior of a co-star who was frequently intoxicated on set.

Beckinsale’s revelations, as reported by Pinkvilla, highlight the ongoing struggles women face in the film industry when addressing harassment. Her words serve as a reminder of the importance of listening to and believing those who come forward with their experiences.
