Kevin Spacey suspended from 'House of Cards'

star Kevin Spacey has been suspended from the studio behind the hit series investigates what it called 'serious allegations' concerning the actor's behavior on set.

Reportedly, the announcement by the studio, came on Friday shortly after said in a separate statement that it would not be involved with any further production of 'House of Cards' if the show included its star, Spacey.


In its statement he said, "Spacey's suspension was effective immediately" and added that it would "continue to evaluate a creative path forward" for the show during what it called a 'hiatus'.

Production of the show's sixth season was already suspended earlier this week following a report that accused Spacey of assaulting actor Anthony Rapp in 1986 when the

'Star Trek: Discovery'

star was 14-years-old.

has opened an investigation into the veteran actor in response to an allegation that he sexually assaulted an aspiring actor in London.

Spacey, who is also an executive producer on 'House of Cards,' has taken a break from acting and is seeking 'self- evaluation and treatment'.
