Jennifer Lopez, the diva of Hollywood, has the aura to carry a whole tour on her back – but a 50-pound dress made her feel like a nightmare. For her upcoming film ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ the 56-year-old had a dance sequence, donning the dress that looked quite impeccable but had its challenges.

Jennifer Lopez's 50-pound dress

"The gold dress was 50 pounds,” she said about the dress, during an interview with CBS’s Sunday Morning, before adding, “It was so heavy. When they would lift me up, and I would try to move my leg and do the attitude. It was a nightmare.” However, the fashion statement worked so perfectly that the intricate lines of the dress moved with the actress, and monitors stealthily caught it.

Appreciating the fashion designer of the film, JLo claimed that Colleen Atwood knew what she wanted from the film, especially from the lead actress. Not only did she call it a ‘great collaboration,’ but the singer highlighted that the designer’s expertise significantly helped what the film wanted to portray. “She was very specific about each moment in the movie... she let me pick shapes and let me input on colors and things like that, but she was very specific and it really helped me,” she said, according to People.

Jennifer Lopez writes a love letter

Meanwhile, Lopez dedicates ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ as a love letter to the Latin and Queer community, citing that it’s important to spread love in times like these of blatant hate. “Because in a time like this, when those communities are being demonized and marginalized, this is a big movie with three Latin stars in it, with the lead being from the queer community as well,” she said elsewhere in the interview, according to Deadline.
