'Mamma Mia 3' UPDATE: Amanda Seyfried says it will happen
Hollywood actor Amanda Seyfried is sure her starrer "Mamma Mia" will return with the third installment.
"It's just interesting that ... it'll happen. I know it's going to happen. If there's a need, you know," she told the entertainment magazine People.
The first film released in 2008, featuring Seyfried alongside Meryl Streep. It was directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and it revolved around a young bride-to-be, Sophie (Seyfried), who invites three men to her upcoming wedding, with the possibility that any of them could be her real father.
The sequel, titled "Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again", was directed by Ol Parker and released in 2018. It followed a pregnant Sophie reopening her late mother Donna's hotel while flashing back to how young Donna (Lily James) arrived in Greece and met Sophie's three potential fathers.
The actor has previously talked about the film and said she will "keep campaigning for it until she is blue in the face".
Both films went on to have good box office runs, with the first film collecting over USD 610 million at the global box office and the second film grossing over USD 400 million.
