Michael Cyril Creighton on romance rumours between 'Only Murders In The Building' co-stars Meryl Streep and Martin Short: 'They have such a wonderful immediate intimacy' - Exclusive

Michael Cyril Creighton, star of the Emmy-nominated series 'Only Murders in the Building', is spilling the tea on the new season and the rumoured brewing 'romance' in The Arconia.

The actor, who plays the role of the inquisitive neighbour, Howard Morris, takes a more central role this season as he joins the trio of Steve Martin's Charles-Haden Savage, Martin Short's Oiver Putnam and Selena Gomez's Mabel Mora, as they try to get to the bottom of another murder mystery.

At the heart of this murder mystery is a love story between Short's character Oliver and Meryl Streep's character Loretta Durkin. The romance that started in Season 3 of the show, continues to blossom in this new season, giving way to chatter of the co-star's possible off-screen romance.



Ahead of the release of the show, ETimes sat down for a candid chat with Michael to ask if there was any truth to the rumours and to share his experience watching the two actors spark off their impeccable chemistry.

While Creighton praised their "incredible chemistry" and acknowledged their characters' "immediate intimacy," he made it clear that he isn't privy to any personal developments off-screen. Creighton said, "I think they're great actors and have incredible chemistry. I don't know what's going on off-screen... I would be the last to know. But, I know that they're great, great, great actors and those two characters have such a wonderful sort of immediate intimacy. So, I understand why there's all the swirling about, but, I just think the fact of the matter is they're incredible actors."


The Season 4 of the series premiered on Disney+ Hotstar on Tuesday, August 27. New episodes of the 10-part series will be released every Tuesday in the coming weeks.
