Months after Liam Payne's demise, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy honours late singer with new tattoo - See photo

Liam Payne's girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, is paying tribute to the late One Direction star in a special way. Two months after his passing, Cassidy, 25, shared a picture of a tattoo dedicated to him on her Instagram Stories on December 22.

In the photo, Cassidy was seen lying in bed with her arms around her dog, Nala, whom she adopted with Payne a month before his death. She showed off matching angel wing tattoos on her index and middle fingers. While she didn't comment on the new ink, she added a red heart emoji in the caption.

The heartfelt tribute follows the tragic death of Payne, who passed away at the age of 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires on October 16. Payne and Cassidy had been in Argentina for Niall Horan's concert, but Cassidy had returned to the U.S. just two days earlier, on October 14. Payne stayed behind in Argentina and checked into the CasaSur Palermo Hotel, where he tragically died.

In a statement shared on her Instagram Stories just two days after his death, Cassidy, who was first linked to Payne in October 2022, thanked her followers for their kind words and support. She expressed feeling lost and overwhelmed, stating, “Nothing about the past few days have felt real,” and asked for privacy as she navigated the difficult time. She referred to Payne as her "angel," writing, "You are everything. I want you to know I loved you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you, Liam.”

Just a few weeks before, Cassidy joined mourners, including Payne's former One Direction bandmates, at a private funeral service held at St. Mary's Church in Amersham, England, on November 20.

Payne is survived by his 7-year-old son, Bear Grey, whom he shared with his ex-partner, Girls Aloud singer Cheryl. Three individuals have been arrested in connection with his death and face charges including abandonment of a person followed by death, as well as supplying and facilitating narcotics.
