I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place & having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5. This is so scary to me. Please stop this. Can you try to imagine the terror & panic these kids feel right now?" She shared the post with a photo of children on mats, covered up with blankets, in what appears to be a fenced area.

The post has drawn attention to her past comments on immigration and its contrast with her more recent political stance.As per a report on TMZ, the rapper, went on record to as recently as 2024 to share that she is not a US citizen. A TikTok video features her saying, "I was born on a beautiful island called Trinidad and Tobago. But I’ve been in the States for many years. You would think that with the millions of dollars that I’ve paid in taxes to this country that I would have been given an honorary citizenship many, many, many thousands of years ago.

Nicki Minaj has been in the news over the past weeks, as she has been ordered to pay $503,000 after losing a lawsuit which could jeopardise ownership of her $20 million California mansion. As reported by Daily Mail, Judge Cindy Pánuco ruled against the rapper in 2024 judgment as part of a lawsuit brought by her one-time security guard, Thomas Weidenmüller.Weidenmüller had named Nicki in his 2022 suit, in which he claimed that he was assaulted by her husband Kenneth Petty in March 2019 in Germany.
