While there is still no clarity on when cinemas will reopen in India, they have already prepared a line-up of films that the audience can expect once they are back in business.

As soon as

cinemas reopen

, moviegoers will get to watch

Hollywood

films like 'My Spy', 'The Last Full Measure', 'Ordinary Love', 'Countdown', '

The Farewell

', '

The Wild Goose Chase

', 'The Personal History of David Copperfield', 'True History of

The Kelly Gang

' and 'Mr. Jones'.

Kamal Gianchandani, CEO, PVR Pictures, says, "The release dates of these films were scattered throughout the year, but we have preponed the releases so that the audience can have a new film every week once cinemas reopen."

PVR Pictures

is the distributor of these Hollywood films and will be releasing them in other cinemas across the country. "We are partnering with exhibitors to release these films once cinemas reopen," Kamal adds.

After being shut for months due to the lockdown, India's movie theatres are still not allowed to reopen even in Unlock 1. While some other countries have reopened cinemas, Prakash Javadekar, the Minister of Information and Broadcasting, in a meeting last month, told exhibitors that the situation will be examined after looking at the status of the COVID-19 pandemic towards the end of June.

Christopher Nolan's '

Tenet

' is also scheduled to be released on July 17, but whether moviegoers will be able to watch the film in theatres in India on the release date will be decided this month.
