bagged the Best Director award for the musical starring Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone. What’s more, with this, 32-year-old Chazelle has become the youngest director in Oscars history to win the honour.

In his acceptance speech, the director, who had brought his girlfriend Olivia Hamilton to his big night, said, “This was a movie about love and I was lucky enough to fall in love while making it.”

Chazelle’s ‘La La Land’ went into the awards ceremony with a whopping 14 nominations. At the end of the night, the film bagged six awards including his Best Director win.
