Oscars 2025: Robert Downey Jr, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Penélope Cruz to present at the 97th Academy Awards

The Academy announced that Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, and others will present at the 2025 Oscars. They join last year’s acting winners in awarding trophies on March 2 at the Dolby Theatre, with Conan O’Brien as host.

The Oscars will bring back the 'Fab 5' format, where past winners praise this year’s nominees. Usually used for acting categories, it won’t apply this time due to controversy around Emilia Pérez actress Karla Sofía Gascón. Instead, five past winners will highlight technical achievements.

The 97th Academy Awards will be led by executive producers Raj Kapoor and Katy Mullan, with Rob Paine as co-executive producer. Taryn Hurd and Sarah Levine Hall return as producers. The team includes director Hamish Hamilton, designers Misty Buckley and Alana Billingsley, music director Michael Bearden, and choreographer Mandy Moore.

The writing team for this year's Academy Awards includes Amberia Allen, José Arroyo, Josh Comers, Dan Cronin, Jessie Gaskell, Skyler Higley, Berkley Johnson, Ian Karmel, Brian Kiley, Laurie Kilmartin, Carol Leifer, Jon Macks, Conan O’Brien, Matt O’Brien, Agathe Panaretos, and Mike Sweeney.

The Oscars will be broadcast live on ABC and streamed on Hulu on Sunday, March 2, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. The ceremony will also be aired in over 200 countries worldwide.
