Pedro Pascal’s Meteoric Rise

Pedro Pascal is now a household name and has been dominating the small screen with roles in hit shows like The Game of Thrones, Narcos, the inter-galactic Star War series, The Mandalorian and more recently in the post-Apocalyptic drama, The Last of Us. As of now, The Mandalorian and The Last of Us figure in the Top Three shows on TV.

He got his big break on these TV hit shows after almost 20 years of struggle playing small bit roles in films and TV shows. He was a college student-turned vampire in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and has also had a recurring role in six series of The Good Wife, where he played the role of a DA.

The life-changing role came his way when he was cast as Oberyn Martell in the fourth season of the hit HBO fantasy series, Game of Thrones. Everything about his acting was praised in the show – from his confident swagger to his jaw-dropping action scenes and dialogues.

In this long series again on OTT, Pascal essays the role of Javier Pena, an American DEA agent who is deputed to Colombia to track down a drug lord. The series is based on the real-life story of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar.

In 2019, another significant role came his way in the inter-galactic Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, in which Pascal plays the title role. The series created by George Lucas is now in its third season and has its loyal fans who have ensured that it continues to be among the top TV shows of today.

This HBO show was touted among the much awaited TV shows of 2023. The series is based on a Playstation game of the same name and debuted to rave reviews in January on OTT. Pedro Pascal who plays the main lead of Joel Miller, a smuggler, tasked with leading a teenage girl to safety across post-Apocalyptic America is paid $600,000 for each episode.
