Quote of the day by Eric Dane: 'The past contains regrets, the future remains unknown, so you have to live now'
The 'Grey's Anatomy' fame actor, Eric Dane, left the world on February 19. In addition to being a phenomenal actor, Eric Dane carried a profound perspective on life, which now feels especially poignant. In what now becomes his final message to his family and the world, Eric Dane shared a powerful thought that came to him when he knew the end was near. He gave the world a reminder: “The past contains regrets, the future remains unknown, so you have to live now. The present is all you have. Treasure it. Cherish every moment.”
This final message by Eric Dane was recorded in November 2025 for ‘Famous Last Words.’ Eric, who was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), knew the message would be aired after his death. In the deeply emotional documentary, which aired on February 20, a day after Eric Dane’s death, the actor shared these powerful final words.
Despite his visibly frail condition, in the documentary, Dane described his spirit as buoyant and said, “There’s no reason for me to be happy in any individual moment, but I am.”

Eric Dane’s powerful final message to the world
As the interviewer, Brad Falchuk, left the stage for Dane to deliver his final message, he shared his words, specifically addressed to his daughters. After reminiscing about his memories with his daughters, he went on, “First, live now. Right now. In the present. It’s hard, but I learned to do that. For years, I have been wandering around mentally and lost in my head for long chunks of time, wallowing and worrying in self-pity, shame, and doubt. I’ve replayed decisions, second-guessed myself. ‘I shouldn’t have done this. I never should’ve that.’ No more. Out of pure survival, I am forced to stay in the present. But I don’t want to be anywhere else. "Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”Top Comment
