Rachel Zegler appeals to the audience to give Shazam! Fury of the Gods a chance, tweets 'our film is actually really good'

Shazam! Fury of the Gods was released last Friday, but did not get off to a grand start as expected by the DC bosses. It made only $30 million at the box office, trailing far behind the first Shazam film, which had a far better $53.5 million opening at the domestic box office.
This had led to a tweet by actor Rachel Zegler, who wrote that: “Hey, our film is actually really good. Some people out there are just being senselessly mean.” She quoted audience reviews on rottentomatoes.com which had given the film an 85% score.
She added, “It’s just cool to hate on fun nowadays, that’s ok, we’re good.”

While audience reviews are encouraging, it is critics who have panned the film, giving it a dismal 53% score on rottentomatoes.com. The 2019 film, Shazam! in contrast had received an impressive 90% score by critics. Only Wonder Woman had scored better at 93%, making the two films the best critically acclaimed for the entire DC Universe.

Rachel Zegler plays the part of Athena, one of the daughters of Atlas and has made a heartfelt plea to the audience to watch the film and give it a fair chance.
