The much awaited Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One was finally released in theatres worldwide yesterday and it has already got excellent reviews from viewers and critics alike. Apparently, Cruise had charged $12 to $14 million for the next two Mission Impossible instalments. The film promises to be a massive success despite its shooting and release being delayed due to the onset of the coronavirus.
The unexpected happened as the pandemic made huge strains on the budget of the film which had to go up by approximately ten times than what was originally planned to a reported $290 million. A case in point was when some of the crew had tested positive for the virus and Cruise personally spent approximately 500,000 pounds for a special private ship to keep the positively tested film crew out of harm’s way and thereby creating a safe bubble for the rest of the teams to work and prevent a breakout.
Similar to the financial agreement for Top Gun: Maverick, Tom is reportedly set to earn more profits as bonuses once Mission Impossible 7 performs well at the box office and also more from streaming and digital rights.
According to reports, Cruise made more than $100 million from Top Gun: Maverick ticket sales, his pay, and his share of home entertainment rentals and streaming earnings. Notably, for both Mission Impossible 7 and Top Gun: Maverick, Cruise serves as one of the producers.
