Ryan Gosling, who is currently going viral for his performance on ‘Project Hail Mary,’ has opened up about his love for some good old drama. In one of his latest interviews, the famed actor revealed how much he liked to watch soap operas at one point in his life. Read ahead to know more about what the 45-year-old had to share.
Ryan Gosling admits that he once loved watching soap operas
While featuring on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast to promote his latest film, the actor opened up about how, once upon a time, he was into watching the dramatic and beloved soap operas that we all know. He admitted that he used to love watching them in his early years, citing that he had no friends to play around and spend time with when he was growing up.
“I used to pretend to be sick, so I could stay home and watch Regis and Kelly. I loved Regis and Kelly and 'Days Of Our Lives’”, the actor openly admitted, revealing that he would spend most of his time catching up on the soap operas on his TV.
He further shared that he truly respects the work that soap opera actors do, and that they are not given enough credit. “‘Days of Our Lives', soap opera actors in general, they do not get the love they deserve. (They have to) memorise (the script) the night before, like 10 pages of dialogue. They get one take. And it's impossible scenarios like when (Days of Our Lives character Marlena Evans), (played by actress)
Deidre Hall, gets possessed, this was right around when X-Files was a big deal, suddenly everything got supernatural, she got possessed by the devil,” he admitted.
