Ryan Reynolds finally spoke up about the recent lawsuit his wife, Blake Lively, filed against 'It Ends With Us' co-star and director Justin Baldoni. The allegations of sexual harassment and a toxic work environment made it the first time in a long while that the actor was vocal while supporting his wife publicly.
Reynolds took to Instagram to raise money for the SickKids Foundation in a heartfelt message. The actor was spotted with his 8-year-old daughter, Inez, as Kidpool alongside himself, in his Deadpool costume, in the clip. Sharing daughters James, 10, Betty, 5, and a son named Olin, 1, with his wife Lively, the actor wrote of his director, Bryan Rowland: "Thank you for directing this amazing little piece during a time I really didn't feel like putting the suit on.
Reynolds disclosed that he and Lively would match donations up to $500,000 to help families facing unimaginable challenges. A source revealed to 'People' that Reynolds has been consistent in supporting Lively throughout the legal battle, saying he is her "rock" during this trying time.
Blake Lively filed an eight-page lawsuit against Baldoni, claiming that the latter sexually harassed her and body-shamed her on the set of 'It Ends With Us'. She alleged that Baldoni made inappropriate inquiries about her personal life and also made alterations to the script with unwanted intimate scenes. Also, both Baldoni and producer Jamey Heath allegedly entered Lively's trailer uninvited several times when she was either undressed or breastfeeding.
Lively also claims Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her and produced leaked text messages between Baldoni and his PR team as evidence in support of her claims.
Baldoni rebutted the allegations and has criticized Lively over her supposed "dubious PR tactics." According to his attorney, Bryan Freedman, "TAG PR operates like any crisis management firm would. The audiences reacted based on the organic nature of Lively's actions, during the promotional tour." This has darkened the prospects for the commercial release of the film.
Lively's husband showed support, and so are her fans as the litigation continues.
