Selena Gomez regrets not keeping up with her Disney family after the conclusion of the Wizards of Waverly Place
Popular singer and actress Selena Gomez admitted that one of her biggest regrets in life was losing touch with the Disney family whom she closely worked with for several years and had formed what she thought were lifelong bonds and relationships.
To put this into context, Selena became a star through her role as Alex Russo in the Disney’s television series, Wizards of Waverly Place, which had a successful run from 2007 until its conclusion in 2012.
She made her film debut with the Warner Bros. movie, Another Cinderella Story and then the Disney film, Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie in 2009, while she was still a teenager. She also had a recurring role in Hannah Montana, the Disney channel series.
In a recent Wizards of Waverly Pod Podcast, Selena was joined by her co-stars in the film, Jennifer Stone and David DeLuise, who essayed the roles of Gomez’s best friend and father on the Disney hit.
During the podcast, she admitted that because of intense relationships, breakups and the intense scrutiny and invasion of her private life, she had changed as an artist and as a person. “I think I slowly became kind of shamed. I felt ashamed of the decisions that I made… I didn’t want you guys to see me in the state that I was in, because A, you would have told me the truth, which terrifies me, and B, I didn’t want to let you down,” Gomez revealed to her former co-stars.
She also explained that after her parents divorced when she was just 5-years-old, she felt like the cast and crew of the Wizards of Waverly Place had become like her second family.
