Graham Greene were once co-stars on ‘The Lowdown’. In a recent interview, Hawke recalled working with the star and filming the show with him. While talking about how ‘playful’ and ‘supportive’ he was, the actor also called Greene a “real leader in his community”.

Ethan Hawke opens up about working with co-star Graham Greene
The duo first met during the filming of the show ‘The Lowdown’, where Hawke recalled that the actor was “playful and mercurial”. During an interview with People, the ‘Black Phone 2’ actor recalled his experience while working with Greene.
He shared that Greene was someone who truly loved acting, which was something that he always enjoyed watching. He added that it broke his heart after he learned of the actor’s demise. He recalled working with the actor back in May for the show, about which he shared that Greene’s "Health seemed great when we were working together. He was really fun to be with, so I was sad."
"He's been a real leader in his community, it was great to see him thriving until the end”, he also added, while recalling how supportive he was of the creator of the show Sterlin Harjo, who himself is Native American.
Following the announcement of his demise, fellow celebrities had poured in their heartfelt condolences and prayers for the ‘Wind River’ actor, including Hawke. He had shared a photograph of the two on his social media page with a touching caption that shared how Greene was “always possessed extraordinary grace, wisdom, wit, & depth”.

Graham Greene was a prolific figure in the industry and was born in the Six Nations Reserve in Ontario, Canada. Part of the Canadian First Nations (Oneida), the actor was known for promoting his Native American heritage in almost all of the big projects he appeared in. Some of his most popular roles include, but are not limited to, ‘Thunderheart’, ‘Dances With Wolves’, ‘Die Hard with a Vengeance’, ‘Maverick’, ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’, ‘The Shack’, and many more. Throughout his career, which spanned more than 40 years, the actor received a large number of awards and accolades to celebrate his work in the industry. These included a Grammy Award, the Gemini Award, and the Canadian Screen Award. He passed away on September 1, 2025, in Stratford, Ontario. He was 73 at the time of his demise.
