"The Monkey": Details revealed about the upcoming Horror film

The teaser for the horror film "The Monkey," which is based on a Stephen King short story, has just been released. Directed by Osgood Perkins, the film stars Theo James in a gripping role. The teaser provides a chilling preview, featuring a bloodied Theo James encountering a menacing toy monkey.

The film's plot revolves around twin brothers named Bill and Hall, both portrayed by Theo James. They stumble upon an old toy monkey in the attic of their childhood home, a toy that once belonged to their father. The monkey brings about a series of gruesome deaths. In an effort to escape the curse, the brothers discard the toy and go their separate ways. However, when the murders start again, they are forced to reunite and figure out how to destroy the monkey once and for all.

The cast includes Elijah Wood, Tatiana Maslany, Laura Mennell, and Christian Convery, alongside Theo James. Additional cast members are Sarah Levy, Colin O’Brien, and Rohan Campbell. Osgood Perkins, known for his previous horror film "Longlegs," directs "The Monkey." He co-wrote the script with Stephen King.

The production team is led by James Wan, who is famous for creating "The Conjuring" Universe and other popular horror franchises like "Saw" and "Insidious." The film is produced by Atomic Monster, C2 Motion Picture Group, Black Bear, Range Media Partners, and Stars Collective Films Entertainment Group. Neon will handle the film's distribution in the United States.

"The Monkey" is scheduled to be released in theaters on February 21, 2025. This film will mark another collaboration between Perkins and Neon, following their work on "Longlegs."
