Especially taking into account the number of infidelity allegations that arose against the actress when she was still with Brad Pitt. The rumors began in 2022, and while the actress had remained silent for the most part, the frequency at which the speculations were being shared had prompted her to deny the allegations.

Jennifer Aniston on dating speculations with former US President Barack Obama

The former US President Barack Obama and actress Jennifer Aniston found themselves in the middle of a controversial debate when speculations arose in 2022 that the two had become more than “just friends”. While Aniston is known to remain silent on such matters for the most part, she ended up revealing all about how ‘untrue’ and ‘bizarre’ the rumors were in the first place.

As per RadarOnline, the actress had opted to address the rumors as she believed that ignoring them would only cause a lot more problems.

In August 2024, when the rumors got out of hand, and a publication even posted a misleading article about the duo as well, Aniston and her team issued a formal statement, denying all allegations of her being involved with Barack Obama, though still calling her a fan of his work.

How did the rumors start in the first place?

Anonymous sources from many different outlets had shared that the two had gotten closer in recent years. InTouch Weekly had also done a piece on the dating speculations, from which one of the official statements read, “With the election coming up in November, Jen has gotten very political, so sheʼs found herself in Barackʼs world a lot lately. Heʼs gone Hollywood, so heʼs now in Jenʼs world. He has production deals going [with Netflix]. They have found they have a lot in common — and are talking more and more”.

They resurfaced yet again, more recently, after reports of Michelle Obama and Barack Obama facing tensions in their relationship started. What added fuel to the fire was when the former President attended former President Jimmy Carter’s funeral as well as Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony as the new president, without his wife.


In another hilarious bout, in an old interview on the show ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’, the actress shared that she does not know the former president that well; however, shared, “I’ve met him once. I know Michelle more than him.”
