‘Avengers: Infinity War’ fan theories that may come true

‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is by far the most anticipated superhero movie of all time. The film took over a decade and 17 movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe to finally culminate in this intergalactic battle between a mad titan Thanos and Earths mightiest warriors along with demi-Gods and superheroes. With all this time in hand and a few more days, until the film's worldwide release on April 27, it is no wonder that fans following the franchise have come up with multiple theories on how the film will end.
Like the multiverse, there are many theories, but we have picked up the best that may come true.

Loki hands over the Space Stone (Tesseract) to Thanos to save Thor

Loki has long been a villain in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since he first appeared in 'The Avengers'. However, over the years he seems to have turned over a new leaf of sorts and fans got to see it first hand in 'Thor: Ragnarok'. As seen in the trailer, Loki slowly but reluctantly hands over the Space Stone (Tesseract) to Thanos. However, fans seem to think it will be a trade-off, to spare his brother Thor's life.

A new captain taking charge

‘Captain America: Civil War’ ends with Tony Stark, a.k.a Iron Man telling Steve Rogers that he is “not worthy” of the shield, to which the Captain agrees, drops it and walks away with his best friend Bucky Barnes. The promo videos and trailers, showed Steve with his trademark star and Avengers logo ripped off his uniform. This hinted at his character now adopting the new moniker ‘Nomad’. With Chris Evan's contract also coming to an end after Avengers 4, and the Russo Brothers changing their social media display picture to the Winter Soldier, Bucky Barnes with the shield, it only fueled speculations that Cap will die and Bucky will take his place. Keeping in line with the comics, this could actually be a possibility.

Tony Stark’s vision was actually a scene in Infinity War

Marvel fans will know of the makers "hiding" a trail of breadcrumbs along in their movies that follow up in the chapters to come. That said, Tony Star's vision, as shown to him by Wanda Maximof, may not have been a prediction, but a prophecy of sorts of the Avengers' impending doom. As a fan pointed out on social media, the stone boulder stairs in the 'Avengers: Infinity War' posters actually matches the one Tony saw in his vision that had all the Avengers, lying dead and Steve Rogers in his dying breath saying, “You could have saved us.”

Doctor Strange uses the Time stone to travel between realms and change the course of events

In his origins movie, we got a chance to see Doctor Strange played by Benedict Cumberbatch, travel between realms, reverse time and save the world. With the Time stone within the Eye of Agamoto in his possession, fans seem to think he will travel between realms to find a possible solution to this impending doom. Another seems to think that he will turn time and create events that will change the course of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it.

A member of the Guardians of the Galaxy will die

Unlike the other characters in 'Avengers: Infinity War', this fight is personal for the Guardians of the Galaxy. With Gamora, Nebula and Drax, all hoping to kill Thanos for the atrocities he caused to them and their loved ones, fans are predicting a long impending showdown between the characters, with one or more falling to their death.
A TV spot showing Iron Man restraining an angry Peter Quinn has further fuelled theories of Gamora dying at the hands of her "father".

The rise of New Avengers

As revealed by the cast, there will be over 60 superheroes battling Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War'. This will introduce us to a new breed of heroes that could serve as a formal induction into the growing Avengers club. With Infinity War and 'Avengers 4' marking the end of an era in the MCU, it could also serve as a launchpad for the next generation of heroes. Along with predictions of a new Captain taking up the shield, we can only bet he or she will have a new team to lead.
