After the lukewarm response to the last three DC movies, fans and critics alike are finally breathing a sigh of relief, as Wonder Woman heaps praise from all quarters. Not only is the film's star,
Gal Gadot, being lauded for her portrayal of the superhero, but director
Patty Jenkins is also being appreciated for her treatment of the subject. And yet, the DC film has been banned in
Lebanon
, citing its Israeli star as reason. Theatres in
Beirut
started pulling down posters of the film post the ban announcement just hours before the movie's release. According to reports, the ban complies with a "decades-old law that boycotts Israeli products and bars Lebanese citizens from traveling to
Israel
or having contacts with Israelis."
Given the reviews so far, all we can say is, too bad for Lebanon.
