Alanis Morissette's home in Brentwood, California has reportedly been raided by thieves, who took away with USD 2 million in jewellery.
The incident happened on Thursday when the the 'Hand in My Pocket' singer, her husband Mario 'Souleye' Tread-way and their children were not home. On Tuesday, a spokesperson for the
Los Angeles Police Department
would not name Morissette as a victim.
However, the rep did confirm that on February 9, "suspects made off with a safe containing approximately USD 2 million worth of jewellery and other items or property" from a Brentwood home.

stated that besides taking the entire safe inside the mansion, they did some damage to the house during the break-in.
LAPD
's Commercial Crimes Division, which handles high-end burglaries, has reportedly taken up the case and is currently investigating the burglary. They revisited the home on Tuesday to examine the crime scene.
The 42-year-old singer has not yet commented on the incident. It's not the first time the singer has become a victim of a crime. Only last month, the 'Ironic' singer's ex-manager, Jonathan Todd Schwartz, admitted that he had embezzled more than USD 5 million from the musician.
He disguised the criminal withdrawals which he did between May 2010 and January 2014 by falsely listing them as personal expenses. According to federal court documents, he used the money to invest in marijuana grows. Schwartz was charged with wire fraud and filing a false tax return.
