Ahead of their India tour, Swedish duo Dada Life speaks to us about their music, their love to capture moments and why they want to work with artiste
Little Richard. The duo will be performing in Bangalore, New Delhi and Mumbai. Excerpts.
Dada Life touring India for the first time, is there a specific agenda you will be following during the tour? We don't know anything about the EDM scene in India, but we can see on Twitter and Facebook that the buzz is crazy so we're really looking forward to coming over.
We haven't really planned anything yet. We have heard from other DJs that Indian fans are the craziest, and that suits us. We have been looking forward to this tour for so long now. We have a couple of aces up our sleeve. It will be insane!

It's something you should live by, whatever it really means it's up to you to decide. It's really how to live your life - the “Dada Life”. We met at a chilli cook-off here in Sweden and we started talking music and suddenly we were like, “Oh you make dance music? I make dance music!” So we decided to meet up the next day, and we made a track, which was actually the first Dada Life release. It was called Big Time.
Your songs exude a different take on life, does that come from personal experiences or stories from other people's life? The biggest musical inspiration for us is to try and capture a moment. When we are in the DJ booth and we play a track and we look at someone and if we see pure happiness, joy in someone’s eyes, we try and capture that little moment and bring that back to the studio and make a whole track out of it. When it comes to other artists, we love listening to Little Richard. We love his voice, his high-energy tracks and we’ve actually reached out to him for a collaboration. But we haven’t heard from him.

When it comes to our show we never reveal what's going to happen. And sometimes we don't even know it! It's about expecting the unexpected.
Any message to Indian fans. Get ready to get ugly!
Activities you will take on during the tour? We haven't really planned anything yet. I don't even know how long we're there for. But I would assume get some good street food and check out other local stuff. We're not big on sightseeing but we like to walk around new cities to get a vibe of the place.
What action did you take after your passports were seized by the Swedish government? Is the situation under control? The thing is still we’re aiming for it but perhaps we need to be a little bit better prepared for it. We need to think it a little bit more.
What is your take on dance music? I think it's here to stay. It's all about the experience. And no music can compete with tons of lazers, lights, pyro and the loudest kickdrum you've ever felt in your body.
