Grammys 2026: Trevor Noah roasts Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump; says, 'She's discussing very important issues'
Trevor Noah came back to host the Grammys 2026, and this time it was known that it would be his last year doing it. He opened the show with the same fun energy he always brings. The show started right after the “APT” performance by Bruno Mars and Rosé.
He also joked about the huge number of Grammy categories. Trevor said, “They’ve even got a category for Best Voicemail From Your Grandmother. Another three-and-a-half minute banger, nana!"
The jokes felt light, simple, and easy to enjoy.
Then he started walking around the tables, talking to stars. He teased Pharrell about Louis Vuitton discounts. He even asked Jelly Roll if he could unlock Teddy Swims’ phone with Face ID. It kept the room laughing.
One of the biggest moments of his monologue came when Trevor said, “Nicki Minaj… is not here. She's still at the White House with Donald Trump, discussing very important issues."
Then he slipped into a Trump impression and said, “Actually Nicki, I have the biggest a — everybody’s saying it. I know they say it’s you, but it’s me."
People on Twitter started posting right away. One person wrote, "Trevor stayed messy for this lmao. The shade is wild but also perfectly timed. Grammy hosts really don't hold back anymore huh."
Another person wrote, "can anyone name one time trevor noah was funny?."
One commented, "I figure Nicki Minaj and Donald Trump might just bond over being unforgettable characters. Trevor Noah sure knows how to spin a wild tale to get a laugh, I'll give him that.."
Another one said, "Who is this loser? Nicki minaj is way better than this nobody.."
And someone wrote, "The fact the crowd cheered extra hard when he said “ Nicki Minaj is not here” oh whalenika nobody likes u."
Trevor also took a moment to talk about something serious. He supported Olivia Dean after she spoke out about Ticketmaster and resellers. He said they were “ripping fans off." Then he joked again and said, “If fans can’t afford tickets, we can’t have live music. And without concerts, how will we find out which CEOs are having affairs on the Jumbotron?"
