A hologram of singer Amy Winehouse is to go on tour next year. The estate of the late "Back to Black" singer, who passed away aged 27 in 2011, have teamed up with the BASE Hologram company to create a virtual likeness of the star, which will go out on the road with a live band and backing singers to perform ''digitally remastered'' versions of her classic hits.

"This is a dream for us. To see her perform again is something special that really can't be put into words. Our daughter's music touched the lives of millions of people and it means everything that her legacy will continue in this innovative and groundbreaking way," Amy's father, Mitch Winehouse, said in a statement.

The tour was announced by Mitch Winehouse and Base Hologram CEO of productions Marty Tudor at the

Amy Winehouse Foundation

's annual gala in London.

The Winehouse family and Base Hologram are also planning to incorporate fundraising and awareness campaign for The Amy Winehouse Foundation in concert with the worldwide tour.

The Winehouse hologram concert will join Base Hologram's current touring shows "In Dreams:

Roy Orbison

- The Hologram Concert" and "Callas in Concert," in honour of

opera

legend

Maria Callas
