While the 40-year-old singer is healing, she got candid about the song she wrote after her first divorce in front of her fans during the concert in California on Tuesday, July 14, 2025.

According to People, Katy had an overwhelming talk with the fans during the segment ‘Choose Your Own Adventure,’ where fans get to vote on songs for her to perform. As the votes tallied, the results showed that the audience wanted her to sing ‘Not Like the Movies.’ Perry responded, “You're gonna make me sing this song in this time in my life?"


“OK, we'll do it! Because you voted for it,” she continued, adding that the fans also voted for her classic ‘The One That Got Away.’ “I let you choose the song tonight because I like to pick an album for every country that I go to, and for the U.S.A., I picked Teenage Dream because U.S.A., you could be a teenage dream baby. You better get it together. I'll always have that feeling for you,” Perry said during the show.

Furthermore, as the show continued, Katy dropped the truth bomb and said that ‘Not Like the Movies’ is the song she wrote in her 20s after her first divorce. Warning her fans, the singer said that she would “try and hold my composure while I sing it a week before my period."

A couple of days earlier, Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom’s representatives shared an official statement of their split. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter [Daisy] with love, stability and mutual respect,” the statement read, as per Page Six.
