Born as Bessie Regina Norris hailed from Miami and garnered attention in the 1970s even though she had been a singer of her siblings' musical group the 'Echoes of Joy'.
At the age of 17, her signature song 'Clean Up Woman' written by Clarence Reid received a lot of love and appreciation from the audience! It became one of the top songs and stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 weeks!
Known for songs like 'Tonight Is the Night', 'No Pain, No Gain', 'Girls Can't Do What the Guys Do' and 'Clean Up Woman', the singer had won the Best R&B Song Grammy award for composing 'Where Is the Love'.
