Lily Allen reportedly set to drop album detailing mistreatment by music executives
Following the success of her latest record 'West End Girl', which details the breakdown of her marriage to David Harbour, Lily Allen is reportedly set to drop a new record which details how she has been mistreated by music executives.
The album was reportedly written five years ago but never released, reports femalefirst.co.uk
"There's now great excitement about Lily's unreleased album finally getting a release. She's really pushing the idea. Having timed the release of West End Girl perfectly to coincide with Harbour's comeback in Stranger Things, heaven knows what she's got in store for her other exes if the album does get released," a source told The Mail On Sunday newspaper.
The source added: "Lily knows her currency right now, she is a superstar after her last album and if ever there was a time to get what she wants, it's now. There will be plenty of material - Lily has had rotten time within the industry. As a vulnerable young woman, there were many people circling around to abuse her."
She is reportedly set to work with British-born producer Blue May, who collaborated with her on 'West End Girl', to help her update the record for release.
Allen hints on 'West End Girl' that former husband David was unfaithful to her and admitted her experiences in her second marriage gave her a better understanding of the "pain" first husband Sam Cooper felt in their relationship.
She previously told The Observer newspaper: "I've learned there are no] baddies and goodies in a marriage but, having done things that were not very nice in my first marriage, I have a better idea now of the pain I may have inflicted. I've learned how horrible it is to be on the receiving end of that."
Allen has found getting divorced "devastating" and said it has left her struggling to trust other people.
She said: "It's just sort of devastating, really. It keeps you up at night and costs a huge amount of money and just goes on and on and on. And I hate feeling like I can't trust anyone. But there's something about dealing with an ex-partner and lawyers that creates an environment of feeling like you can't trust anybody or anything."Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the latest Hindi movies, upcoming Hindi movies in 2026 , and Telugu movies.”
