‘The Great American Songbook’ fame Grammy-winning music producer Richard Perry passes away at 82

As the year 2024 is all gearing up to be galloped off into the sunset, the world of entertainment loses yet another star. Gammy-winning music producer Richard Perry who is famous for “You’re So Vain,” Rod Stewart’s “The Great American Songbook” series, and more, passed away on Tuesday

The recipient of a Grammys Trustee Award in 2015, breathed his last at the age of 82 at a hospital in Los Angeles. Daphna Kastner, who is a friend of the late artist mentioned cardiac arrest as the reason for demise.

According to an AP report, recalling Richard, Kastner said, “He maximized his time here.” Richard was more than a friend to Daphna, he was more like a father figure. Speaking about him, she shared, “He was generous, fun, sweet, and made the world a better place. The world is a little less sweeter without him here. But it's a little bit sweeter in heaven.”
