Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee & Prodyut Mukherjee set to host festival in memory of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan

Hyderabad is soon going to witness a the seventh edition of a unique music festival, in honour of the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan. Due to be held between November 16 and 17, the festival is titled Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan National Festival of Music, and has been organised by Sangitanjaly Foundation in association with the Department of Language & Culture, Govt of Telangana. The festival lineup features many stalwarts, including Sanjeev Kumar Jha and Manish Kumar for Dhrupad Bandhu Recital, alongside Padmabhushan Pt Ajoy Chakrabarty on the first day. The second day will host Padma Bhushan and Grammy Award Winner Pt Vishwa Mohan Bhatt alongside Pt Ronu Majumdar. The idea has been conceived and curated by Abhijeeth Bhattacharjee and Prodyut Mukherjee.
Sharing his thoughts about the festival, Pt Prodyut Mukherjee says, "It is an honour for us to offer shraddhanjali to the maestro Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, who spent his last days in Hyderabad."
Adding to this, Abhijeeth says, "Ustad ji's Mazhar is located in Hyderabad at Dara Mir Momin, Hari Bowli in Charminar, and this festival will be in his honour and also intends to show our reverence to this legend."
It is said that Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan had a special liking for Hyderabadi Tehzeeb and always enjoyed his stay here.
