Devotees march towards Paithan for Eknath Shasti celebrations
On the auspicious
occasion
of Hindu month Falgun, Eknath Shasti celebrations took place in Aurangabad. The festival is observed on the day whenSaint Eknath
left his body in theRiver
Godavari and took Jala samadhi atPaithan
–which is now a town in Aurangabad. Since Paithan is a prominent place for the occasion, devotees from nearby villages marched towards the banks of RiverGodavari
located in Paithan. People walked on foot as men carried orange/saffron colour flags and women carried tulsi ordrinking
