Pratishthan, in association with the Nath Group and Mahatma Gandhi Mission, the five-day festival’s favourite part were the workshops and the short film contest. A workshop by filmmaker Umesh Kulkarni on how to make short films followed by a seminar on mobile phone filmmaking was a part of the festival. Another highlight of the AIFF was the short film contest. The contest aimed at giving chance to the budding filmmakers from eight districts of the Marathwada Region. Award worth ₹25000 was given out to the winners of the film-making contest. While the festival saw opening with Pawel Pawlikowski’s foreign film

, the closing was done with Oscar wining and Cannes 2018 Palme D’Or winner, Hirokazu Kore-eda’s movie Shoplifters.
