An inclusive puppet show in Bengaluru
E veryone loves a good puppet show, and this time around, an NGO in Bengaluru has, in an initiative to celebrate Autism awarness month — organised special puppet shows, especially for children with Autism. After two successful shows over the last two weekends, the team is now gearing up for their final show on April 27. “The show runs for 30 minutes, and it has been designed by a team of therapists and educations. Our puppets have facial expressions over dialogues so that it’s easier for the kids to grasp it. Also, we have gentle transitions between scenes, to make sure that it doesn’t become a sensory overload for them,” says Sneha Joshi, one of the organisers of the shows.
The team has also been travelling to several locations across the city, about which Sneha mentions, “We chose different locations so families from various parts of the city could attend. Also, we wanted to involve multiple art and cultural spaces to support inclusion.” The response for the first two shows have been great, Sneha tells us. “he kids were laughing, dancing, and one kid came up to me and said he wanted to see the show again — that meant the world to us,” shares the organiserBest Hindi Movies | Best Tamil Movies | Best Telugu Movies | Best english Movies | Best Malayalam Movies |
