Kalaarnava music and art festival goes online this year

The

annual music festival Kalaarnava

, hosted by Gokulam School of Music that is headed by renowned flautist and

guru HS Venugopal

is all set to go online this year. This festival, which is a brainchild of Venugopal, has earned its reputation as a festival by artists for artists. The festival aims at presenting Indian and international music, art and culture to the Bengalurean audiences.
This year, owning to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organisers have decided to have a day-long online fiesta for the audience, which also will have a charity cause. Singer and musician

, who is one of the festival curators, says, "Along with the propagation of arts, Kalaarnava 2020 involves a fundraiser that will be in aid of artists in need of financial help. This 14th edition of the festival will comprise 14 acts that will span over 12 hours and it will be held on June 7 between 10 am and 10 pm."

The line-up for this year includes Aavahana - Gokulam 100 flute ensemble, Hindustani Classical Recital by Siddhartha Belamannu,

Layatharanga

featuring Mysore Nagaraj and

Mysore Manjunath

, an act by Dr Jayanthi and Kumaresh, an impromptu lyric and music composition session by Dr Ganesh, Praveen D Rao and Anoor Ananthakrishna Sharma, speed painting by artist

Vilas Nayak

and sand art by artist Raghavendra Hegde.
Apart from the line-up, this year will also see felicitations to director-actor

TN Seetharam

, Grammy Award winner and musician Ricky Kej and musician KN Venkatanarayana. There will also be a talk by Gururaja Karajagi.
