Karnataka’s new portal promises faster approvals for movie shoots

The budget saw the launch of Cine Mitra, a single-window online platform designed to reduce delays for filmmakers. The Chief Minister said in his budget speech, “Cine Mitra will be established to facilitate all necessary permissions from various departments needed for film shooting and re lated activities under a unified platform.” The platform aims to integrate approvals from multiple government departments—ranging from the police and civic bodies to forest authorities—under a single digital system.
