Raga Malva opens an evening of Dhrupad at Tribal Museum

Under the Uttaradhikar series of

Tribal museum

, which is held every Sunday, audience of Bhopal saw an evening of

Dhrupad

performances by disciples of the celebrated Dhrupad duo -

Gundecha Brothers

. The evening began with a unique

Rudraveena

Jugalbandi between Murali Mohan Gowda of Karnataka and

Heikl Ben Mlouka

of France. They played

raga malva

on their instruments as their opening performance.

This presentation was followed by Sourabrata Chakraborty's Surbahar and yet another jugalbandi between

Igino Brunoi

and Virginia, a couple from Italy who have been training with Gundecha brothers. The couple that has been learning from the Dhrupad exponents, performed on flute and saxophone.

The event culminated with Drupad Sansthan founders and well known exponents Gundecha Brothers performing on the stage.
