Session on role of women in the social entrepreneurship

conference

on woman’s

social entrepreneurship

is going on in the city organised by a

private college

of the city and another college from Mumbai. Different aspects related to women and social entrepreneurship is being discussed in this conference. An

interesting session

was held on entrepreneurship education where what it is and how one can do it were discussed. The keynote speaker of this session was Monika Mehta who told the attendees that only

fifteen percent

women in our country are entrepreneurs. Even though the number is less but these women have been actively contributing to the economy of the country and this also proves that the skills of the women are not less than anyone. She further added that women need to start thinking that nothing can make them powerless or weak.

Then another session was organised which was on process in women social entrepreneurship and is that something unique. In this session women who are entrepreneur were made the key note speakers so that the attendees can hear it from the entrepreneurs directly.

Umang Shridhar

who has been working with the Khadi fabric told the attendees about her journey and how she is trying to take the fabric of Khadi online. She told the attendees further that the process of entrepreneurship is an ever learning process, the more one learns the more a person can grow. She said that a woman also needs to be patient because growing a business is a time taking task. She also told the attendees about the kind of challenges a person faces especially a woman.
