Actor Swaraj Barik, who spent the

lockdown

in his native place Baripada, has made a cardboard

airplane

that took him nearly four weeks of work. The

actor

said that he spent his time nurturing his childhood

hobby

of indulging in paper and cardboard craft. He has made a 4.5 feet airplane using cardboard and other accessories and has dedicated it to the state.

The actor is currently studying MSc in

Computer Science

in

North Orissa University

. “I have made an airplane using cardboards that took me 25 days and it was a good activity to engage in during the lockdown period. Making

cardboard crafts

has been my childhood hobby. As shooting and my classes are suspended due to lockdown, I preferred to use my time in doing something I always loved,” said the

actor. Earlier, he had made Titanic ship and a palace.


“This airplane is a lookalike of Boeing 737. I have used the thrown away cardboards, have done proper wiring inside it and used motors and LED light. I have named it

Utkal Airlines

. I have used all my cardboard crafts in decorating my house,” he shared.



He also shot a short film during the period in his house while giving out the message that a person is his or her own friend during any crisis period. Through the short film he has tried to boost the morale of every individual fighting this difficult time.
