Mahurat of Odia film that deals with Covid-19 pandemic, held

of an upcoming Odia film that deals with the plights of common people during Covid-19 pandemic, was held in the city yesterday. The film titled as,

Wuhanru Odisha

, is going to be directed by veteran filmmaker Sanjay Nayak.

The mahurat was held amidst the presence of the cast and crew of the film along with several eminent people. Renowned doctor

Ashok Mohapatra

gave the clap while other dignitaries cracked coconuts to start the shooting. Talking about the film, the director said that the film would show how the deadly Coronavirus spread from Wuhan to Odisha. “The film will show the plights of common people who were the real sufferers during that phase. People will get to see everything that had happened during the lockdown period. This will be a realistic film,” said Nayak.


The film features Abhijit Das and Lipika in lead roles while veterans like Kuna Tripathy, Pradyumna Lenka, Biju Badajena, Biraj Das, Sasmita Pradhan and few others are also playing vital roles in this film. Basantraj Samal is going to score music for the movie while S Ranjan is the cinematographer.


Earlier on Basant Panchami, the script puja of the film was held with the lead cast and crew in a temple.
