From influencing on social media to a TV show, city girl Stuti Parmar is making long strides
Chandigarh girl, Stuti Parmar, who was recently on the TV reality show Wheel Of Fortune, hosted by actor Akshay Kumar, talks to us about her journey from being a social media influencer to a participant on this show. Excerpts.
Q: Tell us how you started and how you decided to become an influencer?
Instagram influencer was not really something I see my page as. Instead, I wanted to create something of my own, that has a voice, an opinion, somewhat similar to what a journalist does. Since I couldn't become a proper journalist I decided to take the camera and talk from the prospective of an Indian corporate girl, showcase my life and maybe people could get some insights. And if this is what an influencer does so maybe I am an influencer.
Q: Tell us about your journey into the show. How did it happen and how was your experience?
A show like the Wheel Of Fortune is somewhat different for the Indian audience because it is more on the concept of 'Subh khelo subh jeeto' types so nobody losses eventually which makes it more fun and interesting. When their team reached out to me via Instagram I wasn't sure if this was real cause I never gave a real audition ever. So, this came as a big surprise and after multiple rounds I was finally on the stage with Akshay Kumar! My experience, to be honest, was great. I am a fun loving person and this was my kind of show. The host, Akshay Kumar was very energetic and punctual at the same time he was patient enough to listen to our conversation and didn't shy away from guiding us on how to rotate the wheel. So, overall it was once in a lifetime kind of opportunity and I lived my full potential..
Q: What are your key learnings as an influencer?
I think Instagram has made the world come closer as in we sitting in India can see what is a person sitting in London is doing. But, all this comes with a lot of scrutiny and judgement also. Secondly, I feel one should be careful of what is being spoken online and what you are posting online because whatever we put on social media, it stays forever. If by god's grace you get viral then all of your past posts could also invite some judgements. Hence, I am a little mindful of what I ppost online.
Q. What does the future hold for you? Do you wish to pursue entertainment industry ?
I am some who is always open to any opportunity that comes my way. I am keen to try out new things in life and my philosophy is 'Ek life hai Subh kuch krk jana hai.' So, I am open to any kind of format that comes along. But if you ask my interest, I would be keen to entertain people on platforms like reality shows of the genre, Bigg Boss or Traitors etc.
