Punjab students selected for Kochi Muziris Biennale

To generate interest in the understanding of

contemporary art

practice among students, the Punjab

Lalit Kala Akademi

has selected nine students from various educational institutions of Punjab and Chandigarh for a travel grant to visit Kochi, Kerala, where International Art Event - Kochi

Muziris

Biennale is going on these days. Students of Visual Art and Visual Art History who are currently enrolled in BFA/MFA/BA with Fine arts, MA with Fine Arts and MPhil in Fine Arts in any college, art institution and university of Punjab, were eligible to apply for this grant. With this the students will be able to witness the creatively charged environment and ambience of this mega art event organised every two years at Kochi, Kerala. The Biennale opened on 12th December with the participation of 96 artists from 33 countries. Biennale opens up the connection between religion, politics, and sex in human beings through the artwork. The Biennale organisers, who also happen to be friends of Diwan Manna, have made special arrangements to give art walks to these students from Punjab.
