The incessant rains sweeping the region are no dampener for art and craft lovers, who thronged Panchayat Bhavan in Sector 18 for the Aadi Mahotsava, the unique Tribal Festival here.
Organized by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED), Union Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the cultural extravaganza showcases fusion of art and culture.
The event has invited as many as 32 acclaimed artisans from Sikkim, Andhra, Karnataka, HP, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Guwahati, Delhi Gujarat and other parts of the country.

There is a wide range of handloom handicraft items and products on display. A range of designers’ silk sarees from Madhya Pradesh, colourful shawls, sweaters, socks, lois, jackets, et al, from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir, bed spread, bed covers, cushion covers and other items of daily use from Rajasthan. Besides, designers’ black pottery and crockery, metal ware, there are stalls selling organic dry fruit, vegetables, condiments, tea, and much more to choose from. Organic soaps, creams, hair-conditioners and face-lifting creams.
