Would consider my job done well if Chandigarh voter count is highest: Samaira Sandhu

Actress Samaira Sandhu, who has been nominated Chandigarh's state icon for LS polls, started campaigning for awareness on voting a few days ago.

Samaira, who was approached by the UT administration says, “I quickly said yes because I have always been enthusiastic about giving back to my hometown Chandigarh whatever I can, and this was another opportunity where I could bring about a change for betterment. Also, I have always voted.”

Her job entails encouraging all the eligible voters to cast their vote. “I feel that I would consider my job done well if Chandigarh voter turnover count is the highest,” says Samaira who has done Punjabi and Hindi music videos, besides Hindi and south films.

Commenting on how this Punjabi girl landed in South industry, she says, “I was spotted from a newspaper photo by a talented Tamil director who cast me as a lead actress and that happened to be my first movie. I’m trying to overcome the language barrier though but I manage by understanding and learning my dialogues and repeatedly rehearsing them.”
