They say that if you come to Delhi and miss its food, your trip is incomplete. Many visitors to the capital travel to all corners of the city to taste the best food here on their visit. But on Thursday evening, all the best food in Delhi was under one roof. The Times Food and Nightlife Awards 2019 – dubbed the Food Oscars – were presented in a lavish ceremony at the ITC Maurya on March 14 and it saw the crème de la crème of the culinary world converge under one roof. The ceremony was presented by some of the biggest names in the entertainment and fashion world. From TV actors to fashion icons and from beauty queens to top cops, the evening saw them all.

The award ceremony saw emcee Anuj Gurwara entertain the audience with his witty one-liners while the guests presented awards to the best restaurants, bars, and chefs of the year. For many, the highlight of the evening was not the ceremony but the dinner, which showcased all these best eating joints in one place. With food so good, the fitness freaks forgot their dietary restrictions and the foodies their flights (more on that later). It was an evening that truly celebrated the best of Delhi’s culinary offerings.

(L-R) Paresh Ganatra, JD Majethia and Deven Bhojani. Majethia told us, “I have always been a foodie and I used to think I have eaten most dishes from around the country. But when I came here, that myth was busted. Yahan aa kar 20 aisi dishes khayi hain jinka kabhi pehle naam bhi nahin suna tha. And all of these dishes were delicious. I had to fly out the same night, but Delhi ka khana stopped me. I cancelled my flight to eat and it was totally worth it.”
