An arty eve with Rohit-Rahul
This bash at Rohit Gandhi-Rahul Khanna’s art gallery seemed more like a reunion than the opening of an art exhibition, which it really was.
But no one was complaining, as the wine, guests and conversations flowed freely here! The exhibition ‘Back To School’ was dedicated to the college days of many of India’s prominent artists at the Baroda School, which artist Veer Munshi and Ranjit Hoskote had curated as a group show.

While speaking to us at this do, Veer said, “This exhibition chronicles a decade in the history of this popular art school. Usually, we focus only on our works in an exhibition. But as a curator, you need to make sure that everything comes together properly. It’s my first time as a curator. It was exhausting, but totally worth it too.”
NEW BEGINNINGS: When Namrata Joshipura arrived at the do with buddy and upcoming designer Yuvraj in tow, both Rohit and Rahul started singing for her as it was her birthday recently. While FDCI president Sunil Sethi told her that she didn’t look a day beyond 22, Namrata was at the receiving end of many more compliments. We also met Rashmi Virmani, who’s just come back from a holiday in Europe. She was chatting with Shefali Talwar, and during the conversation, Shefali told us, “You may spend whatever length of time abroad. All you need to do to feel welcome back is to drive on Delhi’s roads. Within an hour, you will feel you’re back!”
RANG BHARE: Colours were in abundance in this exhibition, not just on the walls but otherwise too. While Jatin Das was wearing a “very old Tibetan jacket”, Anjana Bhargav had accessorized her outfit with a bright printed stole, and so had Manav Gangwani (see pic). Anjana told us, “In winters, one usually wears such dull and staid colours, so it feels nice to perk up the look with vibrant colours. It peps one up too.” Once a designer, always a designer!
