The British High Commission hosted King Charles’ Birthday Party (KBP) on Wednesday in the capital. The gala reception is an annual celebration to mark the British monarch’s birthday, which is celebrated by British High Commissions around the world. Rajeev Chandrasekhar, MoS for Entrepreneurship, Skill Development, Electronics & Technology, was the chief guest at the event.

British High Commissioner Alex Ellis welcomed his guests in Hindi and said, “Main aap sabka abhari hoon ki aap King’s birthday party mein aaye hain. Main aaj sham aaye khaas mehman Mr Chandrasekar ji ka swagat karta hoon. Aap sabke sahyog se Bharat aur UK ke rishton mein sudhar aaya hai, isliye aap sabki dil se dhanyavad kehna chahta hoon. ”

The King’s birthday falls on November 14, but his official birthday in 2023 will be marked on June 17, when The King’s Birthday Parade (also known as Trooping The Colour) is held in London. “His Majesty The King is very passionate about India. He has visited the country ten times. He cares deeply about this country and has manytimes spoken about his love for it,” added the High Commissioner.

A MUSICAL PARTYWhile Esther Lalrinzuali from Coven Code kept the party going with her set, RIKA, a singer-songwriter, who performed for the first time in the country, shared, “It is such an honour to be invited here to perform at the King’s party. I feel a little nervous before going on stage, but when I am on stage, it feels like my second home. I have always been comfortable on stage. People sometimes get stage fright, but I have never been frightened of the stage. It was amazing to perform here, I never had the opportunity so far because of COVID, but it feels nice to be here. ”
