JMI's Department of Tourism and Hospitality conducts orientation programme for freshers

(JMI), recently conducted student induction programme - Deeksharambh, as advised by University Grant Commission (UGC), Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The programme was organised by the teachers and students of the department under the leadership of Nimit Chowdhary, Head of the Department. The programme was designed as per the guidelines of Deeksharambh covering SAGE--Socialising, Associating, Governing and Experiencing.
Addressing the

freshers

, Chowdhary informed them about various activities and academic programmes of the department and recent trends in the Tourism and Hospitality sector as well as skill-sets expected from the students to get good placements. He also spoke about the history of JMI, the vision of the Vice Chancellor

Najma Akhtar

and her message to the students. The new students were welcomed by their seniors at a ceremony.
Students also organised literary and cultural activities that included debate and discussions, dance and drama and nukkad naatak.
