Keeping up with the Wellness Party trend, Delhiites attend a pilates workshop
Starting the New Year on a right note, Delhiites came together to attend a Wellness Party, organised by fitness and pilates expert Kitty Kalra x House of Beauty. Keeping up with their New Year resolutions, the pilates workshop worked on relaxing the mind, body and soul of those who attended.
Pilates and fitness expert Kitty Kalra told us that she wanted to begin the New Year on a right note and movement with her friends. "For me, a wellness party is something that awakens your soul and makes you continue the activity after having attended a workshop or a session like that. We focussed only on pilates at the workshop and everyone who attended told me that it helped them to start the New Year on a positive note."
Kitty added that people are now understanding the importance of pilates. "Pilates is popular all over the world because it is all core training. It looks like yoga on the mat but it is different from yoga. It engages all your small muscle groups and it is core building and works on strength and stability more than flexibility, which is yoga. I have been teaching pilates because it is healing and it started as a rehabilitation programme for the army men decades ago. It is strange that men think it is feminine and don't do it but athletes now have started understanding the importance of pilates especially the golfers because it is all core and you need a good form, alignment and a strong back. So men have also started doing it now. I have been teaching it for over a decade but it has become popular now because of the Bollywood actresses and others who have now started understanding the benefits of pilates," shared Kitty.
